Dear valued Customer

The heat is over. We want to keep you up to date on the latest product developments in appearance with our wave-scan for evaluating surface appearance. Plus our package promotions ... and don’t forget to see us at the K 2019 in Düsseldorf, the world’s largest plastic fair.

Your BYK-Gardner Team

It all started with LW and SW in the early 1990s. Today BYK-Gardner´s well-known wave-scan analyzes waviness intensity with 5 wavelength ranges and evaluates the brilliance of the surface. Thus, the surface appearance can be analyzed and optimized based on material and / or process parameters. To keep it simple many OEMs developed their own 1- or 2-dimensional scales based on visual studies.

The latest investigation took place at VW / Audi and resulted in the evaluation of the optical profile using Fast Fourier Transformation. This new method determines one or two dominant waviness sizes and their intensity level.

Curious? Download the new firmware and smart-chart from our website free of charge and test it out yourself: www.byk-instruments.com/wave-scan

Don’t miss us at the K 2019. Our highlights are new spectro2guide – the revolution in color – to objectively measure color difference and color stability. And our new light booth, byko-spectra pro, with the best daylight simulation ever. Visit us at booth no 5E17 in hall 5 and see for yourself.

The favorite color of most people, however hardly common among animals and plants. It is very difficult to produce it artificially. Consequently, scientists are eagerly working on creating new blue pigments.

Part 1: In the Search of Blue
Can we really be sure where the color blue has its origin? Already for the Egyptians it was a tedious process and this has not changed until today despite the latest achievements.
